Deadpool 2 Movie Review!!!

Deadpool is back again! The first film’s huge success quickly ushered the second feature, which grossed $785 million to date. The cinematic version of Deadpool is displayed as a spoof movie or a parody to the Marvel films and is closely related to the X-Men franchise. Deadpool still struggles to fight justice in a civil fashion like most heroes. His humorous punch lines and graphic action sequences help draw in big audiences for an R-rated Marvel Film since the Blade movies and Logan.

What was your take on Josh Brolin playing Cable? Cable coming to the big screen is a great look for the X-Men series, but there were some powers and abilities about Cable that were not explored, which could have made this character just as good as the portrayal of Thanos. For instance, like his mother Jean Grey, Cable is an Omega Level mutant with the power of telepathy and telekinesis. His telekinetic powers seem more remotely used by his cybernetic eye, which in the comics was more used to detect psionic energy. With the heavy use of telekinesis and telepathy in this film, Cable would be mistaken for a Force User! Also, Cable is able to call force fields and make use of his time traveling device, but we missed the use of his teleportation mechanism. In the comics, Deadpool makes use of the teleportation gadget where in the movie he uses the time device as his own. This is just one of many things that confused the depiction of Deadpool on-screen. It could also be the reason in the ending credits, Deadpool enters X-Men Origins: Wolverine and kills that version of Deadpool. In DP2, Cable’s mission is to destroy the mutant Firefist before he kills Cable’s family in the future.

In Marvel Comics, X-Force is a team that was created by Cable in efforts to take down mutant terrorists around the world. In Deadpool 2, Wade was responsible for creating X-Force in hopes of saving Firefist from prison and Cable. Much of Deadpool’s recruits didn’t survive and what was left of X-Force eventually consisted of Cable, Deadpool, and Domino. Her feature on this film was excellent and the display of her mutant powers as a luck charm was interesting to see. Question is, if Domino can dominate luck into her favor, wouldn’t she be more deadly than Deadpool and Cable? Wouldn’t she also a difficult target to eliminate?

Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio return to aid Wade in his action-packed adventures. A version of Yukio is featured in The Wolverine, which was a character that was heavily mentioned in both films. Yukio in The Wolverine was able to sense impending death on an individual and in DP2 she can wield electricity. Even though Hugh Jackman states that he’s done playing Wolverine, wouldn’t it be cool for him to play the role once more for either possibly the next Deadpool or an Avengers feature? There were other X-Men cameos in this film such as Beast, Cyclops, Quicksilver and Professor Xavier. All characters we’ve seen in the other X-Men movies, Negasonic Teenage Warhead would be a new addition, but why was Colossus created different from his earlier version in X2 and Days of Future Past? Why was this Colossus always in his organic steel form where in the other films, the character was in his relaxed human form, especially in the X-Mansion where no danger was present?

What is your take on the film? Do you think it measures up to the first film or it was completely better? It’s not confirmed whether or not a 3rd film will be made, or X-Force will be the next installment to the X-Men franchise. If Wade returns, who do you think should be in it?

Take A Look At Some Hot Collectibles for Deadpool!!

Hawkeye

Hawkeye is known as the World’s Greatest Marksmen. He has excellent precision when aiming or randomly throwing or firing weapons. The title of the World’s Greatest Marksmen is challenged by Bulleye, for he has the same uncanny levels as a marksman. Hawkeye is a part of the super team the Avengers and an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Hawkeye and Black Widow worked for the same organizations which gave them significant time together to form a romantic relationship.

Hawkeye is similar to Nightwing, mainly due to their backgrounds. Both characters suffered the loss of their parents, they were both members of the circus, then eventually entering the crime fighting world. Clint has also used different identities like Dick Grayson. Clint was once Ronin, then with the Pym Particles became Goliath. Before Dick Grayson became Nightwing, he was known as Robin, the sidekick to the Dark Knight

Hawkeye has surprisingly made his way to the big screen. Surprisingly because he is among the non-popular characters of Marvel Comics. Hawkeye is featured on  Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, then moving to the big screen with The Avengers 1 and 2 and Captain America Civil War. Hawkeye is portrayed by actor Jeremy Renner. What if Hawkeye could wield the Epirus Bow from the 2011 film Immortals? Do you think this could be the perfect weapon for Hawkeye, just to keep him on par with his superhuman team members?

Hawkeye is very similar to the hero Green Arrow of the DC Universe. One difference between the two characters is style. Hawkeye is outfitted in tactical uniforms while Green Arrow, member of the Justice League, resembles archers in the times of Robin Hood. Also, Green Arrow’s alter ego is Oliver Jonas Queen, the CEO of Queen Industries. Oliver is a wealthy businessman much like Bruce Wayne/ Batman. With his cutting edge in weaponry, Green Arrow is able to contend with whatever gadgets S.H.I.E.L.D may provide Barton. If this battle took place, it would be nothing more than a stalemate. Who do you think would win in a matchup between the two archers??

Comic Multiverse fan favorite artwork of Hawkeye goes to the DeviantART artist anklesnsocks.

Black Widow

Black Widow is classified as heroine and villain because of her affiliations with Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. Because of her training in the Soviet Union, Black Widow is one of the most skilled hand-to-hand combatants and is quite possibly the most skilled espionage agent alive. Much like Captain America, Black Widow’s biology is fused with a variant of the Super Soldier Serum making her superhuman in all body functions and senses. Do you think Black Widow is on the same combatant level as Deathstroke? Do you think her skills in espionage are on par with Solid Snake?

Despite being aligned with different world agencies, Black Widow has put her abilities to good use saving the world with The Avengers. In the end, Black Widow is a rogue warrior. Because of this, she has been in a professional and romantic relationship with heroes she’s worked with like Hawkeye and Daredevil. This is similar in the DC Comics with Wonder Woman‘s interest in Batman and Superman.

Black Widow has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man 2, Avengers 12, Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Who do you think would have been a better Black Widow between Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie? Angelina’s roles in Tomb Raider and Salt match perfectly with Black Widow’s combat feats instead of Johansson’s dramatic roles like The Prestige. Are movie producers putting in real effort envisioning actor/character matches or do you think some movies are just rushed into the making without complete visionary research?

Star Trek: Beyond

star trek

Movie Review!!

This Movie Review of Star Beyond will also feature Star Trek 2009 and Star Trek: Into Darkness

Paramount Pictures released the third Star Trek film titled Beyond. Its opening weekend brought in $89.6 million, which is higher than the opening weekends of the first two films of 2009 and 2013. To date, Star Trek: Beyond generated 343.5 million worldwide. Many supporters feel Star Trek is very popular as Star Wars in the sci-fiction film category. Coincidentally, J.J. Abrams is the current director behind the two space franchises. Star Trek is set to have a fourth film in later years. How long will this film series continue or will Star Trek be reinvented once more in the future?

With J.J. Abrams visionary talent, Star Trek has been rebooted keeping its 50 year essence in tact. New actors resembling the original crew were excellent choices among fans and most importantly the visuals. In each of the films, you notice the progression of Captain Kirk also the rising experience, personality, and family bonding of the crew. With the Enterprise, you will take notice of science theories regarding space travel at light speeds. As you can see, J.J was not shy in having the Enterprise destroyed in each film!

All three movies featured its on unique villain. What so similar between the villains of each movie is that they all have a revenge mission on the Federation. Nero is a Romulan seeking to destroy Earth with a weapon that can create black holes in space. Nero revenge stemmed from the destruction of his homeworld which he believed could be saved. Khan is the second villain who sought to destroy the Federation for being used to create weapons which would start a war between two worlds. Also Khan was threaten with death along with the last of his people. The third villain is Krall, a once human and a captain. His gripe with the Federation is that Earth became unified with her universal enemies thus the Federation. Krall also felt forgotten about when his ship was disabled out on a mission. These villains see the Federation as an armada that has a vision to control the universe. Which of the three films did you like the most?

Sadly, the original Spock Leonard Nimoy, and actor Anton Yelchin have passed away. Leonard passed during the pre-production of Beyond and Anton pass in June, a month before the movie’s release. Star Trek Beyond is dedicated to the memory of both actors. Interestingly, Leonard second marriage was to Susan Bay, who is cousins with the famous film director Michael Bay.

Captain America

new captain america

Captain America is a symbol for courage and justice in the Marvel Universe. The Super Soldier Serum allowed Steve Rogers to become physically stronger than most men of his time on the battlefield. Steve was able to survive being frozen through time only to become leader of the super team The Avengers. Captain America is constantly molding himself to the new ways of the world. His legacy of the past reminds the people of today, fearless heroism of one’s country. Captain America finds himself at odds with Iron Man on different occasions, leading to a Civil War of ideals.

Scientists across the world are looking for ways to extend life, find cures for diseases, and even creating human enhancements. The Super Soldier Serum may not be fiction as portrayed. We live in the world of science. Human subject research has been going on ever since the medical field has spawned. How else could we have medicines, vaccines, and even deadly biological weapons if they weren’t tested first? Captain America’s origin was based around the timeline of WW2, when Germany was eliminating Jews through scientific testing and/or direct genocide.

The Super soldier serum would benefit a character like Batman, who has no superpowers. Most non super powered heroes have trained their bodies and skills to peak perfection. Before the Super Soldier Serum, Steve Rogers was frail and was considered unfit for duty in the US Army. If such a serum was taken by Batman, his physical condition would be greater than Captain America, since his physical condition is at its peak already….

batman4

Like many other characters, Captain America has made his transition from the comic book to major films. Captain America:The First AvengerCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, and Civil War brought Steve Rogers to life with excellent stories, matching very similarly to the comics. Actor Chris Evans played multiple roles in the same comic movie universe, as Captain America and Human Torch. Does Chris changing characters distort the cinematic universe??

Thanos

Thanos is one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe. He is a villain whose physiology brings him to near immortality, able to battle with minimal injury and survive most fatal circumstances. To some degree, Thanos can wield cosmic energy. His near godlike abilities create the desire in him to increase his stature in the universe, no matter the cost.

Thanos decides to eliminate half of the universe to impress Mistress Death and win her love. He believed since his soul was of dark nature, he could impress such a powerful entity. When that became a failure over repeated attempts, he was banned from ever entering the realms of the dead. Despite Thanos failure flaw, he is the first villain to conquer the entire universe. Like most villains, his selfish ambition is his greatest downfall, as displayed in the Infinity Gauntlet series. All those who have great power fear to lose it, this fear is what defeats Thanos every time.

Thanos has made appearances on television with 1997 Silver Surfer and 2009 The Super Hero Squad Show. What excites fans is Thanos cameo at the end of The Avengers film and Guardians of the Galaxy. The Avenger movies are leading to the ultimate battle for the Infinity Gems. Do you think Marvel Studios will stick close to the comic book? If so, how will Adam Warlock, Mistress Death and Mephisto be introduced into the movie plot? How do you like the visual concept of Thanos in live movie?

Comic fans have speculated on would who be the universe most dangerous conqueror between Apocalypse, Darkseid and Thanos. Who do you think is the most dangerous of the three? To be Continued…

Daredevil

Daredevil is among the vigilantes in the Marvel Universe who’s path to protect the innocent, stemmed from an early traumatic experience. Daredevil’s mental strength and determination comes from his faith within the Roman Catholic Church. Taking on the underworld as a blind crime fighter, means having a strong and fearless mentality. Mixing this with his enhanced abilities, Matt became the living meaning of the word daredevil. As a daytime lawyer, Daredevil can stay connected to the crime world at a great degree. Daredevil chose the symbol of the Devil to help leave a fearful impression on injustice in Hell’s Kitchen. Is Matt Murdock in a constant state of moral confliction, when masking himself as a devil, and being a strong believer in the Catholic faith?

Despite being blind, Daredevil’s training over his remaining four hyper senses allows him to have full body and sensory control. He can do acrobatic feats like Spiderman, with perfect balance and equilibrium. What makes Spiderman better is that his agility is heighten because of his superpowers. With enhanced sense of smell and hearing, Daredevil’s abilities is similar to Wolverine‘s when locating criminals. The difference is, Wolverine’s senses are more animalistic in nature due to his mutation, which makes him completely superior when tracking down targets, especially at great distances.

Daredevil has come to life with the 2003 live action movie. Also, Netflix has created an original series of the character’s beginning in crime fighting. As for the film, casting for characters have received negative views from comic fans. Many feel Ben Affleck is not a perfect choice for a superhero role. What do you think? Did his role as Batman prove comic fans wrong?

What comic fans find interesting about Daredevil is his similarities to Batman. Who do you think would win if they were to battle? To Be Continued….

Joker 2019 Movie Review!!!!!

Joker is an origin story of how Arthur Fleck became the Clown Prince of Crime in Gotham City. Since the opening weekend, Joker has grossed $1.079 billion worldwide with mixed reviews from comic fans and movie critics like Rotten Tomatoes, who dropped their score for this film since the prescreening review. Despite the mixed reviews, Joker is the #1 rated R movie of all cinematic history. The dark tone was believed to incite violence to the audience as it did in The Dark Knight and fans wondered if Joaquin Phoenix could portray the iconic villain in a way we haven’t seen before.

This story takes place right before the infrastructure collapse of Gotham City. Arthur is among the lower class of Gotham City, living in the projects with his mother and working as a clown, either for party entertainment or street advertising. Arthur suffers from a mental disorder that causes him to laugh hysterical, especially during times of stress, nervousness and anger. Arthur is provided with heavy medication by social services, who is soon be shut down. Despite his hardships, Arthur inspires to become a stand-up comedian, take care of his mother and be respected by others.

Despite his efforts for a peaceful life, Arthur was always physical or verbally attacked by people that didn’t understand his mental condition. This movie displayed the underlying tension between the upper and lower class of Gotham City, especially after the deaths of three Wayne employees by Arthur’s hand. Slowly Arthur began losing his sanity, losing his sense of right and wrong, as his personal life began to crumble before him. Arthur began to embrace the attention he received after committing his crimes, believing that crime and chaos would break the spirit of the upper-class citizens in Gotham.

The cinematic version of the Joker began with Jack Nicholson in the 1989 film of the Batman. Nicholson’s Joker was more of a prankster than a homicidal maniac. Like the comics, Jack’s Joker became disfigured by falling in a vat of chemicals, turning his skin ghost white and his hair emerald green. This Joker is very similar to the Joker in cartoon series. Heath Ledger was next to portray the villainous character in The Dark Knight. Comic fans have voted that Heath was the best Joker because of how he bent Gotham’s underworld to his will. Heath’s Joker was less focused on prankster antics and more on domination. Suicide Squad brought in the next Joker with Jared Leto. This story of the Joker was about how his relationship began with Harley Quinn. As we seen in the comics and cartoons, Joker treats Harley with kindness and disrespect at the same time. The hoodlum, gangstar look for Joker, with the tattoos and platinum grills, had a disconnect with comic fans. The Joker displayed by Joaquin made the audience sympathize with how the character came to be. Through this story of the Joker, he would seem to be a symbol to the impoverished people of society. Who do you think was the best Joker so far in the cinematic universe?

This film incorporated events that led up to the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne. In all previous versions of the story, The Waynes is leaving the theatre out the side exit leading to a dark alley. What is confusing is why would they leave out the theatre in that direction? Why wasn’t Alfred out front waiting to usher the family in their vehicle? This movie gave a different perspective on that night; riots in the street is what forced the Waynes to run for cover in the alley, only to be spotted by a clown protestor who has a grudge with Thomas Wayne. Ben Affleck retired his role as Batman, moving the position to Robert Pattinson of the Twilight series. Will DC’s cinematic universe keep Joaquin as The Joker so he can face off against the new Batman?

Zoë Kravitz has been announced as the actress to play Catwoman in the upcoming Batman film with Robert Pattinson. Zoë is no stranger to the silver screen, especially in the comic book category. Joe played Angel Salvadore: in X-Men: First Class, was the voice over in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as Mary Jane and the voice for Catwoman in the Lego Batman movie. If DC Comics decide to bring these actors together in the new Batman storyline, will they be able to beat out their predecessors and become the new fan favorites? Comic Multiverse has rated this movie 9 out of 10. What is your rating for this film, and do you think the Batman Universe will ever be secure will the continual changes in character portrayal? Black Panther Movie Review!!!

Black Panther is one of Marvel Comics most anticipated films of 2018. It presold more tickets than any Marvel film, thus placing the movie as the third highest to sell over a weekend. To date, Black Panther has sold $727.9 million dollars worldwide! Captain America: Civil War was the film that ushered the Panther to Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Nation of Wakanda was mentioned, as a country rich with Vibranium. Black Panther is a film with great action sequences, excellent African wardrobes, culture and an amazing cast.

Black Panther takes place a week after T’Challa turns Helmut Zemo in for his crimes and for the death of his father T’Chaka. T’Challa returns home to Wakanda to assume the role of King. During this time, Captain America and Bucky are fugitives kept in secret in Wakanda. Wakanda is guarded by a force field which hides the city in plain sight, just like Themyscira in the 2017 Wonder Woman. Wakanda is the only technologically advanced city on Earth. Under the city lies the rich Vibranium mine and the gardens of herbs which is used to give Wakandan kings their powers.

The Vibranium Panther suit was one of greatest features of the movie. The upgraded armor can materialize over the wearer from a special necklace. The user can then mentally command any part of the suit as needed. The vibranium in the suit stores incoming kinetic energy which then can be dispersed out like an explosive wave. This explosion can be used to hurl enemies, destroy vehicles or help catapult the wearer wherever needed. Its major weakness is sonic waves, very similar to the symbiotes of the Venom family. Which character do you think would use Vibranium in their tech more efficiently between Batman and Iron Man?

This film came with not one villain but three. Killmonger played by Michael B. Jordan was the major villain followed by the return of Klaue and the Man-Ape M‘Baku. Killmonger turned out to become a favorite villain in cinema because of his connection with the black audience. His goal was to help those of African descent around the world to fight against their oppressors with the advanced technology of Wakanda. When he became King for a brief period, he dawned himself as the Golden Jaguar instead of a Black Panther. He felt that all Africans should share in the wealth of Wakanda instead of just those who reside there. Klaue was last seen retreating for his life after Ultron cuts of his arm in Avengers: Age of Ultron. His arm has since been replaced with a sonic blaster, which has the same destructive power as the Panther suit. Klaue is eventually killed by Killmonger, who uses Klaue’s dead corpse as a pass into Wakanda. M’Baku turned out to be much different on screen than how he portrayed in the comics. Instead of being Wakanda’s major villain, M’Baku turned out to be the savior of T’Challa and even helped him reclaim his throne from Killmonger…

Next film slated for the Black Panther is Avengers: Infinity War. From the preview we can see Wakanda is invaded by, what looks like beings from another world. Some of the Avengers are helping the Black Panther defend his hidden nation. What is the Black Panther’s role in the upcoming Infinity War? Will the Black Panther have a second solo film? Now that Disney has acquired the Marvel Characters from Fox Studios, will we see Storm in future Black Panther films as the Queen of Wakanda? So, what were your final thoughts on the Black Panther film??

Dark Phoenix 2019

Dark Phoenix is coming with her solo film in the summer of 2019! This story continues with the young X-Men after Apocalypse. From the trailer and through movie history, comic fans have witnessed the X-Men films are loosely based on the origin comic stories. One thing that can’t be denied is that with each X-Men film created, the visual effects gets better, really displaying the awesome power of mutants! What mutant cameos may we have in this film?? Dark Phoenix is set to release of June 7, stay tuned for our movie review!!
